Spring Health Check In!
Mar 28, 2019We're nearing the end of the third month of the year. How are you doing with your health and fitness goals? If you're killing it great job! I can't wait to see your results in the next few months. If you're struggling to make progress to your goals, like many of us are, ask yourself why? Often times WE are what's holding us back from reaching our goals. Friends, it's time to STOP making excuses and take responsibility!
Yes it's going to be hard. Yes there's going to be obstacles. Yes there's going to times you want to give up or a millions other things you could be doing instead of focusing on your health. BUT, YES!!! You can do it!
Here's a few of my favorite tips to staying motivated and accountable when working towards specific goals.
1. Write it down. Sounds so simple right? However, in our world of technology, we've lost the art of hand written notes and reminders. Actually writing something down helps you to seal that goal into your memory. Even better, write it down somewhere you can see it everyday. On a post it on your fridge, in your daily planner, on your laptop or the screensaver on your phone. Seeing it daily will keep it fresh in your mind and keep you working towards reaching that goal!
2. Celebrate mini goals. So you have a big goal to lose 20 pounds. That's awesome! That will definitely take some time to reach so don't forget to celebrate along the way! First time you put slip into a pair of jeans that didn't fit a month ago, celebrate! Drop 10 pounds? Woo hoo! Buy yourself a new shirt or pair of pants! Setting min goals and celebrating those milestones along the way will help give you the incentive to keep going!
3. Find an accountability partner or a coach. There is so much power behind having a friend or coach in your corner helping to keep you accountable with your goals. Someone to cheer you on when you reach mini goals. To remind you of those goals when you're reaching for that cupcake and to push you a little when you want to skip the gym. Find a buddy, your spouse, or maybe an online coach like me who can be that accountability partner to help you reach your goals!
Three simple steps that can really help you in reaching your goals! Remember, you are in charge of your success so be responsible for your actions, work hard, focus on the end goal and you will get there!!!!
